The next few sunrises and sunsets are signals of love.
May they warm your heart.
These long dark new moon nights envelop us all in the starry reminder of our infinite potentiality.
Look up!
Planets and constellations vying for your attention.
The fertile darkness, ready to give birth to the sun.
As an astronomy lover and astrology buff since childhood, noticing and celebrating the turn of the wheel of the year is a calming practice for me. A reminder that everything is connected and sacred.
This is a poem I wrote about 20 years ago. Every year that I re-read it, I decide to change one thing. A word, a phrase, or just my meaning and perspective on it. Everything changes.

The Embers of December
Starry glow, the Longest night
blankets the Earth in sweet sleep.
The Solstice Blessings, bright
burrowing in our hearts, so deep
Now keep us ever healthy
happy, grateful -and wise.
Humble, nourished, wealthy
enjoying wonder and surprise.
Thanks and glorified praise
to the divine seasons passed,
all those fleeting nights and days
that simply could not last…
Now welcome the Sun’s return
within glowing firelight
fragrant Yule logs burn
piercing darkness… a joyful sight.
Wishing you A MORE delightful holiday season….
